The ones nobody posed for

Grandparents, cousins, the friend who cried first. We shoot traditional portraits for the family album, and candid photographs for everything that happens around them.

A grandmother hugs a guest tightly in the winter sun, laughing Black-and-white photograph of an elderly woman smiling as family lean in around her A woman in sunglasses laughs as marigold petals fall around her at a haldi

"We don't click pictures. We capture the connection."

Behind the lens

Memory Knots is Ankit Khanna and a small team of photographers and filmmakers based in Chandigarh. Ankit started in 2021 with portraits around the city. Five years on, the team covers weddings from the roka to the reception, across Punjab, up in the hills, and wherever else the wedding is.

We shoot candid and traditional side by side, on Sony cameras, with a filmmaker working next to the photographer so the film and the photos tell the same story.
